Downers Grove Library Matt & Hailey Matt and Hailey recently turned six and came up with the idea of collecting donations for the cats and dogs at WSHS instead of asking for gifts for themselves. They had a great time delivering them and seeing all of the animals! The 1st graduating class of Downers Grove High School South, the Class of 1967, recently had their 50th reunion. The reunion committee asked for $50 for 50 years donations to go toward “extras” at the reunion. They had money left over and decided to donate the proceeds of $400 to the shelter. Eva and Eliot Stafford had a lemonade stand and donated the proceeds to the shelter. St. James the Apostle Eva & Eliot Stafford Children in the Early Literacy Program at the Helen Plum Library in Lombard made homemade rope toys and donated them to the shelter. The employees at Omni Cable in Carol Stream have been doing Charity fundraising for the past three years. One of their employees, Matt Farmer, chose our shelter to raise money for during the 4th quarter of 2017. They raised and donated $325. London Howlett and his family collected food and supplies for the shelter. London Howlett Danny Sherman had a birthday and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for him. He collected numerous food and supply donations. The Early Act Club at Gurrie Middle School in LaGrange did a candy cane fundraiser and donated the proceeds of $121 to the shelter.
