CHAPTER THREE: TELL ME YOUR STORY SUBMISSION 20 Normal day, went to get spray paint from the garage and while I was there, my tiny little cousin comes in and tells me his friend’s hurt. First I was concerned and then I remembered he didn’t have any friends over. He came with his parents and that was all. So I asked where his friend was and he points to one of the corners of the garage. From my experience of watching limited horror movies, I know if you look behind, you die or worse - possessed for the rest of your life; and little kids are always the first ones to see spirits in movies so I didn’t want to take any chances. At this point I’m just cursing in my head but then I tried to think what I could do next. Not turning around, I tried to befriend my “cousin’s friend” aka the ghost in my garage. I told my cousin to check on his friend and as- sure if the friend was fine now. I tried to be as nice as I could but I could hear the faking in my voice but I continued - I had to save myself; and my cousin would be fine because he didn’t live here. I exited the garage as soon as I could and took my cousin with me; and the spray paint was no longer required. 48
