“I had a bad reputation”
As a child, I was very rebellious. I was
so full of myself, and that caused
me to not listen to what others
have to say. I didn’t care less even if
it was my parents. I would go as far
as talking back to them when they
give me advices. I wasn’t a familyoriented person so I would always
hang out with my friends. Drinking
and cutting classes were my habits
during that time. I had a bad image
in the eyes of people around me. My
neighbours would not allow their
sons to hang out with me because I
was a bad influence. All I wanted was
respect from my family but I never
got it because I never gave them the
respect they deserved. The truth is, I
had no peace. When I went abroad
to work, my mom invited me to go
to the Help Centre. As I continued
attending the services, there was one
message that caught my attention.
It’s all about Salvation. I asked for
help so I can receive the Holy Spirit. I
cried out to God and ask forgiveness
from Him. I’ve forgiven those people
who hurt me before. When I received
the Holy Spirit, I couldn’t explain
the happiness and joy inside of me.
I received peace. I learned to let go
of friendships that weren’t helpful
for my spiritual growth. Today, my
family and I are very close. I respect
my parents and listen to them. I don’t
have the pleasure to drink anymore,
and I’m also serving God and not the
desires of my flesh.
