Challenges for a new editorial year Marian-Vladimir Constantinescu DDS, PhD, Professor Editor-in-Chief Editorial Dear Readers, Beginnings and first steps are always difficult. It all started with an idea to have an ISI-listed journal in our outlying area. Then there came the desire to turn our dream into reality, to find a way to fulfill it, to be able to stir into action a great many professionals willing to share their specialized knowledge against the current backdrop of globalization. Here we are in the second year of publishing the Stomatology Edu Journal (StomaEduJ) ready to take a look at what has been or should be done…. I would first like to extend my thanks to Prof. Jean-François Roulet, our Editor-in-Chief, without whose guidance, editorial experience, expertise, determination and commitment as to the quality of the materials accepted for publication, fairness and work-related attitude as well as energy invested so selflessly, this journal would not have reached its current standard. Our thanks also go to our Reviewer-in-Chief, Prof. Stephen F. Rosenstiel and his group of reviewers for their significant contribution to the publication of the journal. We would not have managed to publish StomaEduJ without the national and international contribution of our editors and colleagues. As of this year, to increase the readership of StomaEduJ, you can reach us at the following address:  http://stomaedu.com/ index.php/StomaEduJ/issue/archive. Mention should be made of the very valuable contributions by all the authors whose articles were published in our first issues, despite our being less known as yet. Our thanks go both to all the international members of the editorial board and to our Romanian colleagues and contributors from various local universities. Thanks are also due to our colleague Valentin Radoi who formulated the questions attached to the articles and to the Media Systems Communication Publishers coordinated by CEO Alina Nicoleanu who ensured the journal high quality printing standards. This year a number of new, enthusiastic editors have joined our initial staff, such as Co-Editors-in-Chief, Senior Editors, Emeritus Editors - in - Chief, Associate Editors - in Chief, Associate Editors, Editors, Reviewers - in Chief and Reviewers whose activity will improve our standing. So far, StomaEduJ has managed to cover the following topics: Community Dentistry, Cariology, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Occlusion, Orofacial Pain, Oral Physiology, Gerodontology, Oral Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation. Indeed, we would like our new editors’ contribution to allow us to tackle other topics in our coming issues. We hope that you will continue to appreciate the scientific contribution of the founding members and also of our new recruits.
