It was announced that the Bishop’s Lent Appeal this year will be in aid of the Scottish Episcopal Institute which replaces the Theological Institute of Scottish Episcopal Church, usually known as TISEC. The new institute will be the main body for training ordinands for the Scottish Episcopal Church. At present training will be on a part-time basis but the Bishop’s letter indicated that a number of young people are coming forward to explore their vocations and, funds permitting, it was hoped that some full-time training will be available in the future. Money for this is urgently needed and all the Scottish bishops are making this cause their Lent appeal this year. The business of the meeting concluded at around 8:30 which must be some sort of a record. We are very grateful to Canon Scott Robertson for his efficient chairmanship!
