Who to Follow on TWITTER By Hallie Hart Stillwater News Press W hen a professor walked into a classroom, rows of students were reading the college newspaper. That’s something my mom has told me about her four years at Oklahoma State University. Not to make her feel old, but a lot has changed since the 1990s. Instead of skimming through the pages of a broadsheet paper, students are scrolling through Twitter on their smartphones. From keeping up with campus news to sharing viral memes, OSU’s Twitter community is active. Start with following OSU’s official Twitter account @okstate and @burnshargis, OSU’s president. From there, the choices of Twitter users to connect with are varied. Here are a few of the most useful - and most entertaining - ones if you want to know who the prominent people are on campus and what is happening in Stillwater. ANN HARGIS @OSUFirstCowgirl Hargis is married to President Burns Hargis, but that’s not the only way she’s involved with OSU. She is associated with the Women for OSU Leadership Philanthropy Council, Friends of the Library and Friends of Music. You could also find her transporting students around campus in “Clementine,” her distinctive bright orange golf cart. Hargis helped create Pete’s Pet Posse, OSU’s Pet Therapy Program, and has an adorable therapy dog named Scruff. Follow @Pets4Pete to find out where Scruff and friends hang out on campus. First Cowgirl Ann Hargis is all smiles while being honored for 10 years of service to Oklahoma State University. 24 STILLWATER SURVIVAL GUIDE 101 | 2018 MIKE GUNDY @CoachGundy The man, the myth, the mullet.
