If you’re looking for an energy boost, go to the... PLANET ORANGE BEVERAGE COUNTER Location: College of Human Sciences Building Running low on energy after you pulled that all-nighter to study for your psychology exam? There are several spots to grab coffee on campus. Many students choose to get Caribou Coffee as they dash through the Student Union, but my favorite place isn’t as noticeable to all students. Walk into the new section of the College of Human Sciences Building (which is so nice it looks like a hotel) and find Planet Orange, a quick service restaurant. The beverage counter offers Starbucks coffee. Shout-out to caramel frappuccinos for keeping me awake after waking up for my 9 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday class last semester. If you’re looking for your favorite snacks, go to... 20 SOMETHING Location: Kerr-Drummond Mezzanine Maybe you want to eat breakfast, but the box of Cheerios in your dorm room is empty. Perhaps it’s midnight, and you suddenly want to eat a whole box of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies. Either way, 20 Something can solve your problem. It’s a mini-grocery store on the first floor of the Kerr-Drummond Mezzanine, and it has a huge selection, from TV dinners to canned goods to multiple flavors of Gatorade. Most days, it is open until 1 a.m., so it’s perfect for late-night snack runs with friends. Other on-campus dining tips... CHICK-FIL-A in the Student Union is popular, so the lines are long. They wind through the building, and the Union is chaos anyway at the start of a semester. It’s probably best to go there during non-peak hours (for an early or late lunch) unless you have tons of time to spare waiting for that spicy chicken sandwich you want.
