Stillwater Style Winter 2018 - Page 8

Trevor Turner, from left, along with parents Eva and Chuck Turner, have been decorating their home – located at 323 S. Grandview Ct., in Stillwater – in an over-the-top manner for 10 years. They were the 2016 winner of the News Press Holiday Lights Contest. The Turners, 2016 winners who live at 323 S. Grandview Ct. off E. Fourth Ave., work to bring smiles to visitors’ faces in a very different way. The home sits on a corner lot of a cul-de-sac and has roughly 80,000 LED lights that are programmed to music that can be enjoyed at 88.1 FM. The display features dancing arches, a singing Santa and lights on the yard, house and roof all perfectly timed to go on and off to the beat of the 10 different songs. Chuck Turner begins setting up his display Oct. 1, with some help from son Trevor, so it is ready by Thanksgiving. New this year is an animated 25-foot-tall pixel mega tree, which took 40 hours to program and will be on display in the middle of the cul-de-sac. The song and display is a visual tribute to the men and women who have or are serving in the U.S. military.
