It was just one of many examples of friends helping friends. Or in this case, friends helping friends in the cycling community. They wanted to help one of their own who was diagnosed with a disease that’s arguably affected everyone. On Feb. 10, more than 300 riders gathered outside District Bicycles in downtown Stillwater for the Curto Dirto – a 50-mile ride through Payne County to raise money for Curt Dikes’ battle with brain cancer. Through the ride, prize raffle and donations, the event raised about $68,000 before more donations brought the total to more than $70,000. “We made a count on the Thursday or Friday before the event, and we were at less than $50,000 and we were blown away,” said Bobby Wintle, co-owner of District Bicycles. “We didn’t have a goal in mind,
