Recently, I was thrilled to have the chance to discuss music, life and art via e-mail with the band’s lead singer, Isis Queen, a vocalist whose powerful and vivid self-expression on stage and on record is easily matched by her depth, candor and intelligence in conversation. It’s an honour to share the following exclusive interview with Steel Notes Magazine readers. Q: How did the band form? How and when did the Dolls add rhythm guitarist Remmington to the line up? Isis: The band formed out of complete disgust for the music that was out there. So instead of complaining about it, we decided to start our own band and do the type of music that we liked.
