Jordan Green a Force To Be Reckoned With
Hej America!
So the other day I was sitting at home, looking outside and thinking just a few short weeks
and it will be night time for a couple of months. Man, sometimes I miss the USA. That is
when I got an e-mail from the good people at Bongo Boy.
This time around they asked me if I dig Country music and would I give a listen to a new
Country record they are going to release? Well, in all honesty if they had asked me a few
years ago, I would have laughed and made a snide remark. When I was a kid I thought the
lyrics should be T for Texas, T for Tennessee, and T for Turn it off! Good God, I was a Punk
Rock snob. That changed when I heard Hank III. Needless to say, I have come to realize that
there is some really good music in the Country genre and some of those guys can make some
righteous noise.
So it was with a very open mind that I cued up the
album Needle in a Haystack by Jordan Green.
This is an interesting album; one I wholeheartedly
enjoy. Jordan can play and he can sing - so the
prerequisites have been met. I really like some of the
sting work. The violin on the track It’s a Start is
nothing short of brilliant. I find myself grooving to the
funky fiddle jam.
The second track has a Hank III vibe to it. It is a catchy little song in which Jordan paints a
