Steel Notes Magazine November 2016 BRODIAN’S BANTER I'll try to approach this, non politically: The saying goes: "If you can't beat them, join them". Some have added to this and said, "If you can't beat them, join them and then beat them at their own game". When I made my TV pilot, naturally I wouldn't get any airplay for fear of violations of FCC regulations - no profanity, nudity, extreme violence, etc.,... - well, I played by the rules, kept it clean and I achieved airplay here in the USA as well as overseas. If Trump ran as an independent, he never would have won so, he played by the rules, joined the Republican party and then beat the politicians at their own game. Someone with no political history became president. I didn't vote for him. But, I just gave credit where credit is due. On a personal note, I tried Obamacare, couldn't afford it and they wouldn't pay my medical bills anyways so, what was the point? I went one year without medical insurance. I've since found insurance through my day job. Trump has promised to repeal Obamacare. I prefer that he would concentrate on developing environmentally friendly energy sources. I'm disappointed that the president elect has called global warming a "Chinese Hoax". In a recent post, former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that the state he governed enacted enviromentally friendly regulations and the states' business economy increased. About a year ago, I had a letter to the editor published in several newspapers in this country - including New York City and Washington, D.C.. I wrote that the government was getting ready to invest sixteen trillion dollars in a bomber which not too many in the military had confidence in. In the letter, I suggested that it would cost an estimated five hundred billion dollars to fix our nation's infrastructure. In part of Donald Trump's victory speech, he said that he'll work to get a bill through congress for five hundred billion to fix our nation's infastructure. Considering that we now have a Republican controlled senate and congress, I guess he'll get things done a lot faster. Maybe congress won't let him do everything that he wants - a warning to congress: He's nobody's puppet! 106 Steel Notes Magazine www.steelnotesmagazine.com
