PASSION FOR THE JOB
So, what’s it really like to be an Engineer? Let’s find out…
What do you love most about being an Engineer?
The opportunity to use my knowledge and be hands-on,
while meeting people from all walks of life in businesses of
all shapes and sizes. It’s so rewarding seeing the look on
customer’s faces when we resolve issues.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Never quite knowing what the next call is going to be and
what you’re going to encounter. Being prepared is
crucial, though it’s hard work lugging tools around!
Is there more to the job than meets the eye?
For sure. It’s more than fixing a few cables
and checking equipment. As Team Leader,
I’m responsible for managing a crew of
engineers, as well as myself (no easy
feat). You need to be a smart and quick
decision-maker with a calm head.
Thinking strategically and planning ahead
is as important as having the skills to
communicate effectively with your team
and customers.
