The project presented for the first time in 2013 in conjunction with the 55th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, and then inside the 72. International Film Festival, is the end result of a search on the lagoon city, which has given rise to some site specif works in last years. The particular configuration of this historic town makes it an interesting subject of study and reflection, of which the artist can enjoy firsthand as an insider, since he spents there 3 months each year.
The exhibition consists of the series of photographs Venetians protocols, reporting architectural details of Venice, highlighting the peculiarities of living far away from the mainland. That's how pipes, vents, manholes, windows closed, seem to have their own logic and tell the city through the traces of an ancient construction activity. Presented and screened next summer in the 72. International Film Festival, the film Dérive Venetian tells uncharted sides of Venice, unknown to most, mysterious and at the same time charming, characterized by an almost total lack of individuals, on the contrary during the day.
