Tell your friends
Christmas is such a fantastic time of year. Our
whole country
suddenly erupts in a party atmosphere in which
going to church is
considered traditional and culturally acceptable! But
amidst it all, we
as Christians have a gleaming gem to hold out, that
can transform
the shallow shindigs of December into a deeply awes
ome celebration
that doesn’t fizzle out on Boxing Day: Christ was
born, announcing
peace with the God who loves us and didn’t aban
don us!
So why not start praying for and thinking abou
t who you could
intentionally reach out to this year. Maybe you
could invite some
colleagues to the City Workers’ Carol service, or your
children could
invite classmates to the Family Carol Service. You
may want to put
on a mulled wine and mince pies party for your neigh
bours and then
go together to the Candlelit Carol Service. Ther
e are also some
excellent resources available; tracts, websites, and
videos that can
be easily shared amongst friends. Let's be encourag
ing each other to
be making the most of this brilliant time of year
and put the gospel
front and centre!
