Moving on from
St Andrew the Great
to the world
Every year, many members of our church family move on from StAG and Cambridge to
other parts of the country or the world. Though it is always sad to say goodbye to members
of our family, it is a crucial outworking of our aim of seeing gospel workers go out to the
world. Here are just a few people who will be moving on, where they’re going and how we
can pray for them as they leave us and make the gospel known in their new communities.

Where are you moving to?
We are moving to Scarborough, a small
seaside town in North Yorkshire on the edge
of the North York Moors.
What’s prompted the move?
To join the brand new Trinity Church
Scarborough, a plant from St John's Hull,
which started up about 4 weeks ago.
Tell us something about the church you will be joining.
At the moment it's a small church of around 20 adults and 15 children, meeting in a new
college building, so a bit different to StAG! But it shares the same aim of seeking to tell
people about Jesus!
What most excites you about the move?
It will be exciting to get to know a new church family. Lots of the church have uprooted
their lives in order to move to Scarborough and share the gospel with people there. That
has generated a real sense of vision and purpose. We will be hitting the ground running
with events on the beach to reach out to people this summer and a stall in the town centre
so people know about the new church.
Alistair Senior
I’m heading to New Barnet in North London to work for a year as a
church associate at Lyonsdown, a moderately sized church, made up
of a diverse range of people. Their mission statement is to make
disciple-makers, and so their church associate scheme is all about
providing experience and training to become more effective at
communicating and proclaiming the gospel.
I’m really excited to see how God uses this year’s training to help me
get to know Him better. I am also really excited to have a year where
my sole job is to tell people about Jesus! Obviously, full-time Christian
ministry involves lots of work with a lot of people which will be quite
emotionally draining, and very different from my engineering experiences so far! I’m also
a bit apprehensive about whether this sort of work is where my giftings are and so I know
this year might be quite a challenging one for me.
Please pray for me! Pray that I’d source my energy from Jesus and that I would be effective
for His work in Lyonsdown. Please also pray for my own prayerfulness, that my relationship
with Him would be what excites me and motivates me for this coming year.
