Welcome to our school's newsletter which gives a flavour of our energetic school life where we celebrate teaching and learning alongside the vast amount of other opportunities available to our students. I would like to thank and pay tribute to our dedicated staff at St. Paul’s Community College who are always willing to go the extra-mile for our students. The contribution of the school staff to the extracurricular life of St. Paul’s Community College is something we all value and are very proud of. The opportunities offered to our students inside and outside of the classroom in areas of sport, the arts and co-curricular activities are second to none. On behalf of all parents, I thank most sincerely our teachers for their generosity.

The summer term is a time to say farewell. This year we say goodbye to our 6th year students who as individuals and as a collective, have brought so much to our school. We wish them well for their future. We also say goodbye to our valued teaching colleague, Ms. Agnes Dayton who retires this month. Ms Dayton will be remembered as a dedicated teaching professional, whose love of Home Economics inspired generations.

On behalf of the school, I wish our Principal Ms. Noreen Reilly the very best for her new adventure in Waterford College of Further Education. I thank her most sincerely for making our school a vibrant centre of education for both staff and students.

Finally, on behalf of all in St. Paul’s Community College, may I wish you all a lovely Summer.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Andrea Murphy

Deputy Principal

Skills Week. Our JCSP programme was very active this year also with Make a Book, JCSP Chess Competition, Super Spellers and many visits from authors and speakers to our JCSP Library. Students attended the Young Scientist Exhibition, our LCA students catered for our retirement dinner and many fundraisers over the course of the year.

We celebrated National Flag Day, participated in the Waterford City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and we participated in DEAR. Our student Council had a very busy year welcoming our many guests to our school.

We had many achievements and successes on the sporting front, in Basketball we were All Ireland winners. And along with all that we managed to teach 26,344 classes and prepare more than 200 students for state examinations in 38 state examination subjects and 23 PLC subjects.

Finally, I would like to thank all who have contributed articles and photos and to our JSCP librarian Hilary Cantwell for putting the report together. Ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas agus mo comhgairdeas a chur in iúl do phobail na scolie gcointinne ach go mór do na múinteoirí Colaiste Pobail Naomh Pól anseo amach.

I now invite you to sit back, to Drop Everything And Read our annual Report which I am confident you will truly enjoy.
