Reflections Sunrise over the Gippsland Lakes – a letter home Black are the swans above the water flying Fat pelicans float in toward the shore My sun is rising just as yours is dying As day meets night and night meets day once more Beneath your castle walls the white swan glides Sweet sounds of evening tremble on the breeze In your long rush grass the primrose hides Soft is the blossom on your apple trees Beneath my feet the grass though harsh and dry is wet with dew So just for a moment I feel close, so close to you Bright is the sun yet wild the sky above me For I, I’m far from home, from the ones who love me Black are the swans above the water flying Fat pelicans float in toward the shore My sun has risen just as yours was dying As day leaves night and night leaves day once more  PAT A Story Circle Participant Beyond Festival is a brand new event focusing on justice and genuine community. The best musicians, artists, poets, educators, story tellers, painters and more. All coming together for one long weekend in Canberra (at Greenhills) to inspire, engage and equip. This is not a festival based on passive entertainment. This is a festival based on action. Speaking up for the poor and marginalised. Creating an inclusive and compassionate community. Genuinely caring for the environment around us. Beyond Festival wish to acknowledge the Ngunnawal people. The traditional owners and custodians of the land on which our festival stands.
