St. Margaret’s News March 2015 St Margaret’s Uniting Church Hackett is an inclusive, welcoming and caring Christian community which highly values engagement with the wider inner north community of Canberra. Come in to the Story Circle The Stepping Stones For Life (SSFL) Story Circle resumed its monthly meetings for 2015 in February when we had several of the members presenting ‘memorabilia’ and associated stories and anecdotes. We heard about Josiah Wedgwood and saw some examples of his famous blue, green and not so famous grey pottery, family history triggered by a kitchen knife and an old tin opener. We saw some old medal ribbons (without the medals) which triggered a sortie into medieval history and a nostalgic look at the wedding photos (and some others of similar vintage) of one member. Two members did not get an opportunity to present anything due to time running out so they will get a chance next time. We also expect during the year to visit various other themes (still to be identified) and to have our usual chat (but not chatter!) and, of course, our usual tea and bickies! We also aim to publish another of our once a year “Storygallery” little books around August. We are now meeting at 210 Antill Street (the SSFL offices) at 2 pm every third Wednesday.
