Congratulations Again In our April 2018 issue, we extended congratulations to Rose-Mary Faulkner who had been accepted as one of forty six finalists in the EMERGE 2018 International Glass Competition. EMERGE 2018 is the tenth in a biennial series of exhibitions hosted by Bullseye Projects in Portland, Oregon, USA. In our May 2018 issue, we again congratulated Rose-Mary on winning the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s acclaimed National Emerging Art Glass Prize. We also asked the question “Will we be congratulating Rose-Mary here again after the EMERGE 2018 International Glass Competition winner is announced on 23 June 2018?” Well, the answer is a resounding YES. Rose-Mary took out the Silver Academic Award at EMERGE 2018. The prize is a $2500 Bullseye gift card, Divided between entrant and school program, recognition at an awards ceremony, and representation in a “full-color exhibition catalog”. So congratulations again to Rose-Mary and her proud parents and grand- parents, Mark and Peta-Gai Faulkner, Robin Bennett and June Faulkner. Contributions Wanted All members of St Margaret’s and the broader Hackett-Downer -Watson community are invited to contribute articles and photographs about things that have happened or are going to happen at the St Margaret’s/Holy Cross complex or in the local community. Articles about members of the community’s own involvements in things of interest to others in the community may also be submitted for potential publication. The deadline for material for the next issue is 9 August 2018, with that issue being published on 16 August. Material should be given to the editor Brian Rope or to Lynda at the church office.
