News from Common Grace We are in the period of Lent. Lent is an invitation to enter 40 days of self-sacrifice and prayer in preparation for Easter. This is a time to turn our hearts away from evil and violence, and follow the healing grace and peace of Jesus. To prepare our hearts for the transformative power of Jesus’ love. That’s why this Easter, we are all about Love. As written in Galatians 5:14, ‘For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbour as yourself."’ This year we are producing an Easter devotional series called ‘Love Thy Neighbour’, featuring inspirational Sydney Siege survivor Louisa Hope. These resources will be available mid March! In Lent 2015, Common Grace, in partnership with the Bible Society's Daily Bible, invited Christians from all over Australia to unite to: PRAY the Lord’s Prayer each day; to READ daily emailed scripture & devotions on the Lord’s Prayer; and to REFLECT each week with gifted Bible teachers on each line of the Lord's Prayer. You can still find these daily Bible reflections and weekly teaching videos by a variety of Australian Christian teachers from across denominations at http://www.lordsprayer.org.au/ daily_reflections. POSITION VACANT We soon will lose one of our team that prepares and projects PowerPoint presentations during worship services. It would be great to have a volunteer replacement to join the team. If you wish to know what is involved with a view to volunteering, please speak with any of the current team Barbara Burns, John Kelly, Brian Rope or Brian Stewart. St Margaret's News 8 February 2016
