Meetings , Events and Tours
As part of the agency ’ s core mission , the SFPUC seeks to ensure the inclusion of environmental and community interests by being a good neighbor to all whose lives or neighborhoods are directly affected by our wastewater projects , programs and policies . Utilizing treatment plant tours , open houses , workshops , and neighborhood meetings provides meaningful and important opportunities for SFPUC staff to engage and educate San Francisco residents on the investments happening beneath their feet or in their “ backyard .”
One of the highlights for 2015 was our Treatment Plant Tours . Fueled by positive online coverage from residents sharing photos from the tours , registration for our Oceanside and Southeast Treatment Plant tours frequently reached capacity . Over 60 public and private tours of both plants provided residents and visiting organizations a chance to get to know the inner workings of the “ city under the City ” and a chance to take home some of our highly popular # sfsewer stickers .
