VOLUNTEERING IS VITAL Every day homebound seniors and adults age 18+ count on organizations like Senior Resource Association for a hot meal and a safe, welcoming place to go. At the heart of these organizations are dozens of volunteers who help make it all possible. Our community’s senior population is growing and we need more volunteers to meet the demand. Join us as we continue to make Indian River County a great place to live for people of all ages. There are multiple pro- grams from which to choose – you choose which program to offer your time and talent. ADULT DAY CARE TRAVEL TRAINER • Vero Beach and Sebastian locations If you enjoy public speaking and interacting with groups, consider becoming a travel trainer. Knowl- edge of Indian River County’s geographic area is required. • Share your talent! Our clients love to be entertained with special performances. • Engage our clients in an activity, including exercise classes, arts and crafts, and more. • Volunteer any day, Monday – Friday MEALS ON WHEELS •Provide travel instructions and training on the use of public transportation •Assist clients and riders while boarding and de- parting the bus Help ensure older adults get the daily nutrition and wellness checks that they deserve. •Help develop travel itineraries for fixed route service, including origin and destination determi- nation •Volunteer your lunch hour to deliver hot meals and a warm smile •Deliver group training presentations to seniors and people with disabilities •Deliver meals one day or multiple times weekly (Mon – Fri) CLIENT LIAISON •Call Meals on Wheels clients to collect information needed for deliveries SILVER TONES Love to sing? Join us! Our volunteer chorus of 90+ voices performs three seasonal concerts at First Presbyterian Church each year and multiple small performances during the summer. These concerts are now attracting standing-room only crowds. If meal deliveries or special programs are not your calling, consider volunteering time at Senior Resource Association’s main office. •Volunteer 1.5-2 hours, any time of the work day, any day of the week •Insert data in Excel spreadsheets •Assist with general office administration Reach out and let us know how you or your organization wants to volunteer.
