The Love of a Friend

There are so many ideas swirling around in today’s world of what makes a perfect friend. So many differing opinions of how a friend should be and what a friend should do.

And sometimes, I think we can get a little bit selfish when it comes to this. It can be so easy to keep our focus on how our friends are helping us, encouraging us, and making us happy. Sadly, this creates a lot of problems with friendships. Honestly, this could be applied to any relationship. We’ve become a “me centered” culture and all of media screams at us to focus on ourselves.

But what if the key to having a true, lasting, godly friendship, didn’t have anything to do with what we get out of it at all? What if it had to do all with what we have to give?

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
