MKR: When you step into the spotlight things get really busy. All of a sudden you have a million more things going on and places you have to be, and balancing all of that on top of being newly-married and going to college can be a challenge. So I am still adjusting to the chaos of life. But even though it can be crazy at times, it is so fun!
Getting to know Mary...
Now that Mary Kate Robertson is a role model for the millions of viewers who tune into Duck Dynasty, as well as the millions more that look to the Robertson family as Christian role models, we were curious if Mary Kate had any role models growing up. This is what she told us:
MKR: Bethany Hamilton. I read her book “Soul Surfer” when I was 9 or 10 and even at such a young age I was completely in awe of her unwavering faith in God. You may have heard her story or watched it come to life in the movie “Soul Surfer.” Bethany grew up surfing in Hawaii and it even looked like she would go pro, but when she was 13 years old she lost her arm to a shark. She trusted that God had a plan for her life, and with that faith she persevered and became a pro-surfer indeed, not to mention she has been able to reach millions with the gospel! I knew if she could trust God with such an obstacle as losing a limb, that I could trust Him too, no matter what life threw at me.
