Blazer Bunch Benefits

The Valley View Blazer Bunch is a student-ran organization that is centered around helping kids with disabilities ranging from intellectual disabilities to Autism. The Blazer Bunch revolves around a buddy type system, which means that every student in the program is partnered with one or more members that are in the club. This buddy system is put in place so that each student and member are able to make lifelong friendships through socialization, communication, and understanding by spending time together.

The Special Needs Prom & the Special Olympics are the two main events the Blazer Bunch hosts or partakes in during the school year. The Blazer Bunch does many other side projects and smaller events throughout the year, but we are most proud of the following events that our students are involved in.

The Special Olympics is a big event that the Blazer Bunch participates in. This event allows students to show their athletic abilities at their competing level. Schools from all over the district show up and compete in this event.

The Special Needs Prom is the main event that our club puts together each year. This event allows the kids to have the whole prom experience, but they have no restrictions to their fun. The purpose of our Special Needs Prom is to let the kids truly be themselves. Because our everyday goal is to make each individual student feel normal and loved.
