travellers to enjoy a trip without
having to spend more, says Villeneuve.
“Some tour companies and cruise
lines, such as Insight Vacations
and AmaWaterways, cater to
single travellers by waiving or
reducing the single-supplement
fee on select itineraries.”
Villeneuve also encourages solo
travellers to join CAA Travel’s Solo
EsCAApes Club. It’s the perfect travel
club for people who love to explore,
but don’t have a travel partner. “We do
all the planning for incredible group
adventures to destinations chosen by
the club members. There’s no cost to
join the club or obligation to travel.
You just pick the trips that interest you
and suit your schedule or budget.”
CAA Travel also hosts local
events throughout the year, allowing you to get to know the group
and ensuring your next trip is
enjoyable and comfortable.

And now there are
supervisor
many different ways
to save with CAA Rewards, from
instant discounts to CAA Dollars.
CAA Dollars are like real money—
one is equal to one Canadian
dollar.* “Collect them to use toward
your membership—to renew, upgrade
or give gift memberships,” explains
Katherine Tinkler, McPhillips’ service
centre supervisor. “You can also spend
them on CAA merchandise or book
a trip with CAA Travel.” The CAA
eStore (caamanitoba.com/rewards)
is full of online offers to help you earn
more CAA Dollars: Earn 8 percent
back at The Body Shop or 5 percent
back at Fruits & Passion, for example.
If you prefer savings of the instant
variety, you can save 15 percent on
select tickets at the Royal Winnipeg
Ballet or get 15 percent off frozen
goodies at Marble Slab. And when
you’re travelling, save up to 15 percent
at hotels, including Four Points by
Sheraton and Westin Hotels & Resorts.
Finally, there are CAA partners
who offer a combination of instant
discounts and CAA Dollars. At
Reliable Mobility, members can earn
3 percent in CAA Dollars on all
purchases, and save 15 percent on
regular-price items. Teleflora and
Hertz also offer blended deals.
New CAA Rewards partners
are added all the time, so check
the website regularly.
“Whether you choose instant savings or a more cumulative approach, it
pays to be a member,” says Tinkler.
