Send your thoughts about the magazine and CAA services to [email protected] FALL 2016 Long Live Local I really like the new look of the magazine, especially the “Weekender” section. But I would love to see a story about central and northern Manitoba—there are some fantastic places to visit and things to do there. Bobbi M., thOMpsOn Editor’s note: We couldn’t agree more, Bobbi! Check out “Falling for Flin Flon” on page 56 for a profile of this unique northern town. On the Right Track I enjoyed reading your article (“The Inside Track”, summer 2016) about the Rocky Mountaineer. I just wanted to highlight one item in the article: In the paragraph about crossing the Continental Divide, it is mentioned that “…rivers flow west to the Pacific or east to the Atlantic.” Waters that flow east from this point at the Volume 8, Number 3 Continental Divide do flow east and eventually north to Hudson Bay— Manitoba’s link to the world’s oceans. Keep up the good work! Brian M., OakBank Icelandic Delights I’ve been to Iceland several times with my Icelandic husband, but I don’t feel your article (“The Ultimate Iceland Getaway”, summer 2016) adequately promoted all of the country. Staying in the Golden Circle is great, but there is much more to see. In the south, the greenhouses of Frioheimar are a mustsee. Hydroponic tomatoes surround you while you dine on fresh tomato soup and snip basil from a plant on your restaurant table. If it’s not busy when you visit, ask to see the Icelandic ponies at the farm. It’s a family-run business and they love to tell you all about it.
