JILL MARTIN
MEG MORLEY
Jill Martin is a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel
L. Hovland at the United States District Court
in Bismarck. She began with Judge Hovland in
August 2015.
Meg Morley is originally from Walsh County and was
raised on a sugarbeet farm and attended school in Minto.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in history and a minor
in political science from the University of North Dakota.
Meg received her Juris Doctor from the University of North
Dakota School of Law. She has lived in Grand Forks since
2000 and is married to Michael Morley, President of Senior
Partner of the Morley Law Firm, Ltd., in Grand Forks. Meg
has two sons: Dylan, a freshman at the University of North
Dakota majoring in Geology, and Shane, a senior at Red
River High School who plans to attend UND in Fall 2016.
Originally from Jamestown, Jill graduated from the
University of North Dakota in 2010 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in psychology. She earned
her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the
University of North Dakota School of Law in 2014.
While in law school, Jill was an associate editor
of the North Dakota Law Review, involved in Law
Women’s Caucus, serving as the vice president and
secretary, and worked at Morley Law Firm in Grand
Forks. After graduation, Jill completed a one year
clerkship with Justice Carol Ronning Kapsner of the
North Dakota Supreme Court.
Jill is the current Officer at Large of the Big Muddy
Bar Association and Secretary/Treasurer of the
SBAND’s Young Lawyers Section. In her free time,
she enjoys reading, spending time at the lake, and
hanging out with family and friends.
Meg was sworn in as an attorney on September 26, 2014.
Since then, she has operated as a solo-practice attorney
with her own law firm, Morley Legal Services, Ltd. She is
also a contract employee for Enbridge, where she serves as
a Senior Public Affairs Advisor. Most recently, Meg formed
a business partnership and co-founded a full-service Public
and Government Affairs consulting firm, Kelsh and Morley,
LLP, with Scot Kelsh, which operates out of both Fargo and
Grand Forks. She also serves as the YLS representative with
the SBAND Board of Governors.
Her hobbies and interests include politics, the Constitution,
reading and learning, spending time with friends, family
and her dog, and driving her Jeep Wrangler.
