St. Andrews International School, Green Valley May 9, 2014 Year 11Students Target IGCSE Success It is not only the Year 13 students who are preparing to sit international examinations. Our year 11 students have now completed their classes and have started to sit their IGCSE written exams. St Andrews students have a long history of academic success, both in comparison to other international schools in the area and compared to worldwide averages. Over the past 2 years our year 11 classes have averaged passing grades (A* - C) in IGCSE exams more than 89% of the time compared to the world wide average of 70%. At IB level, our students over the past 2 years have achieved average IB Diploma scores of 32 and 32.5 compared to worldwide averages of less than 30. Our Year 11 students (as well as our year 13’s) have been working hard over the past 2 years to maintain this excellent level of achievement. On Thursday May 1 we celebrated with Year 11 at assembly and wished them the best of luck in their exams. Many of the students will be returning to study at IB level next year, but for those students moving on, we would like to wish you the best of luck and to let you know that the welcome mat is always out should you wish to return for a visit! Good Luck in Your Exams Year 11! 2
