KAS VIDRUK AA DIVISION TORIAN KITT, LB, MILES MACDONNELL In his first year, Kitt was awarded the Buckeyes’ Rookie of the Year, the Buckeyes’ Team MVP award, and was recognized as the AA Division’s Rookie of the Year after accumulating the second most tackles. In the 2015 season, Kitt led the AA Division in tackles and has now secured a spot on Team Manitoba’s U-18 squad for the Canada Cup. “Torian Kitt has quickly distinguished himself as one of the top linebackers in the province,” said Buckeyes’ head coach Dan Washnuk. “Entering Miles Macdonell as a Grade 10 student-athlete, Torian’s dominance on and off the field was an immediate spark for the Buckeyes.” Tyler Fedak AUSTIN BUHLER, RB/WR/QB, STEINBACH Buhler is a third-year senior who has started every game as a Sabre. This season he will be a focal point of the team’s offense, lining up in three different positions – quarterback, runningback and wideout – where the Sabres coaches will get him the ball and give him opportunities to make big plays. Last year, as a quarterback, he was 10-for-21 for 214 yards and two touchdowns as a passer. He carried the ball 76 times for 632 yards and seven touchdowns as a runner and had 13 receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns as a receiver. “He is a very intelligent football player which makes it easy to move him into a variety of positions,” said head coach Jamie Peters. “He has great speed, vision, and finishes his runs hard. He will look to build off his great numbers from last year and help carry our team to a third straight championship game in the Vidruk.” Torian Kitt (52) www.SportsLife.life 20 / sportslife TYLER FEDAK, RB/WR, PORTAGE Fedak will try to build on his successful rookie season that was highlighted by three 200-plusyard rushing games. He also had two games in which he scored four touchdowns. He also picked up a Player of the Week selection. “He is a dual threat player for the PCI Trojans and will line up as both a receiver and running back,” said head coach Stephen Fedus. “His combination of speed and agility make him a scoring threat from anywhere on the field. “Tyler is always working to better himself – in the classroom and on the field – and his efforts were rewarded with a selection to the Team Manitoba U-18 squad where he will be playing as a receiver and returner. The PCI Trojans are counting on Tyler to be a game changer this year as they strive to improve on their .500 record from last year.” JOEL FIESSHA, OLB, VINCENT MASSEY BRANDON Fiessha is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound Grade 12 student at Vincent Massey High in School in Brandon. He definitely has a knack for the football. Last season, he had two interceptions (one for a touchdown), two fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. “Joel is a premiere player and arguably the best linebacker in the league,” said his head coach, Mike Steeves. “He is a natural athlete with a huge upside. Joel can be used on both sides of the ball. He is a threat as a receiver with great speed and will attack the ball in the air. As a linebacker, opponents run away from him, but he has a great ability to fight off blockers and make big plays. “He has a great understanding of the game and has a knack for the football He is always around the ball, ready and willing to make a play.”
