Einarson Wins Manitoba Scotties; All-Stars Named Kerri Einarson defeated Kristy McDonald 7-5 to win the championship game of the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Beausejour at the end of last month. Team Einarson will represent Manitoba at the 2016 Canadian Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Grande Prairie, Alberta, February 20-28, 2016. The All-Star Awards were handed out at the 2016 Tournament of Hearts on Sunday afternoon. The Tournament of Hearts All-Stars, selected by the members of the Manitoba Curling Media Association, were presented by Jim Bender from the Winnipeg Sun: All-Star Lead – Raunora Westcott from Team McDonald; All-Star Second – Katherine Doerksen from Team Overton-Clapham; All-Star Third – Selena Katz from Team Einarson; 
and the 2016 Scotties All-Star Skip – Shannon Birchard. Olivia “The Predator” Gerula Wins Winnipeg’s own two-time world boxing champion Olivia (The Predator) Gerula dominated Lucia Larcinese in Montreal back on Jan. 22 to win women’s lightweight fight by unanimous decision. Judges scored the fight 60-54 Gerula. After a shocking loss to Ohio’s Carla Torres for the WIBA World Title at High Stakes Havoc II in Winnipeg on Oct. 22, Gerula went back to work at Elite Boxing and MMA with coaches Kent and Kelly Brown, refining her skills and working on her angles. 2016 will be Gerula’s 19th year of professional boxing. “It’s easier to get fights right now when you’re a woman because we’re in demand, but it wasn’t always this way,’’ Gerula told Holli Moncrieff of mytoba.ca. “I had to work hard to make a name for myself. People are finally seeing that women are great boxers.” KJHL Announces All-Stars The Keystone Junior B Hockey League announced its 2015-16 All-Star teams back in Late January. There will be no All-Star Game this year.
