Todd MacCulloch Hoop School set for
Spring 2016: Host Schools Needed
The TMHS is a program designed to teach basketball fundamentals to children of inner city Winnipeg schools and
is open to 5 schools from the Winnipeg 1 School Division
that host Grade 6-8 students. The Program will provide;
1 head coach, Lesson plans to be left with the school,
T-shirts, Basketballs, attire for all assistant coaches.

Junior High Invitational
Tournament Coming
March 21-24
The 2016 Junior High Invitational Tournament is open to 12 teams from each gender and level
(Senior & Junior) from the Junior High / Middle School
levels totaling 48 teams participating. The Junior category
consists of Grade 7 and 8 students and the Senior Category are 9th graders not playing Junior Varsity. The event
will run March 21-24, 201 out of 4 locations in the greater
Winnipeg area. Deadline to register a team for consideration is Friday March 11.
At all levels the format will see a 12-team single game
knockout similar to the high school provincial championships. All tournament finals will be held on Thursday
March 24 at Tec Voc High School.
The 2016 sites for the tournaments are confirmed as
follows: (subject to change)
• Junior Girls - Acadia Junior High
• Senior Girls - Sargent Park School
• Junior Boys - Valley Gardens Junior High
• Senior Boys - Glenlawn Collegiate
• All Finals - Tec Voc High School (Thursday night)

Licence Plate
Basketball Manitoba excited to announce a new initiative
with its ‘Basketball for Life Fund’ with pursuing a basketball themed licence plate. We have approached Manitoba
Public Insurance, but before proceeding further, we are
conducting a market survey to gauge the level of support
within the community. The cost of a Plate is $70.00 with
$30.00 of those dollars going directly to the Basketball for
Life Fund.
