Bisons Stars Win Canada West Football Awards Bison rookie running back/kick returner Jamel Lyles was named 2015 Canada West Rookie of the Year by a unanimous vote. He is now a finalist for the Peter Gorman Award, awarded to the Rookie of the Year in CIS. Bison fourth year defensive lineman David Onyemata was selected as the 2015 Canada West Lineman of the Year and is now a finalist for the J.P. Metras Trophy, presented to the outstanding lineman in the CIS. And Bison third year linebacker D.J. Lalama was named the 2015 Canada West StudentAthlete Community Service Award winner. He is now a finalist for the Russ Jackson Award, presented to a player who exemplifies the attributes of football skill, academic achievement and citizenship in the CIS. Wesmen Women Win Title, Men Win Six Medals The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Women’s Wrestling team won the team competition while the men’s team won six medals at the 2015 Wesmen
