22-1 and 20-0 and they were fortunate
to beat us 4-1. We were competitive
and every level and lost because we
just didn’t make the plays we needed
to make. But as we did at the Westerns,
we’ll learn from this and I can foresee,
that in two years, we’ll be national
champions.
“What I want to do next, is take these
boys international – to the 2016 World
championships and then be ready to
represent Manitoba at 2017 Canada
Games in Winnipeg.”
The love and affection for
Muswaggon runs deep at Cross Lake.
Thank goodness for Mr. David
Muswaggon,” wrote Thunder assistant
coach John Spence. “To begin with.
he organized a 22-team provincial
championship up here for our boys
program (U10 - U18) giving a wide
range of competition to the boys. They
had never competed in such an event.
He put in a lot of hours and through his
efforts of communicating throughout
the Northern Region of the Province
and securing financial support this
all came together and it ran very
smoothly.
“For our boys’
team, he led them
all the way to the
Western Canadian
Championship crown
(defending our title in
Regina). We wouldn’t
have been able to
make it all the way
there without his
coaching.”
Provincial
softball executive

Coach Muswaggon and player
