From The
As the soccer season
was coming to an end,
we started seeing all the
awards starting to com-
ing in for the top boys
and girls players in the
area. We thought we
would never get into the
All-Whatever business.
When you get into
naming a best of team
it opens up for a lot of
criticism. But, we have
dedicate ourselves over
the past couple of years
to really get into the de-
velopment of the young
men and women when it
comes to soccer in West-
ern New York.
No organization has
gone to more soccer
games over the past
couple of years than we
have. Even this season,
we have probably been
to more than 50 soccer
games (both boys and
girls). This shows the
type of dedi-
cation that we
have shown to
the sport and
the communi-
ty.
With that be-
ing said, we
have decided to
do our first All-
Sports
Union
boys and girls
soccer team. The
young men and
women that were
picked for our
first and second
teams weren’t just
based off of stats.
Our teams are
made up of those
kids
that
have
made a difference on
their teams. They may
have not had 20 goals
and 20 assists, but they
could be a shutdown de-
fender in the midfield.
They could be the one
that is being noticed ev-
ery single game for how
they are the general of
their team.
Our Player of the Year
awards for both girls
and boys couldn’t be any
different. One if a senior
shutdown defender and
the other is an upcoming
freshman that is looking
to break many records
in Western New York.
Our coach of the year for
both is the same thing.
They have both taken to
building programs from
the ground up.
Sit back and enjoy the
first All-Sports Union
soccer teams.
