#5 Brooklyn Nets

(46/36)

After a huge trade period pre-season, an off-field incident that left first year coach Jason Kidd in the stands for the first two games and a terrible start to the season. The Nets have come on in leaps and bounds since the turn of the New Year. The team has gelled well after its horrendous start and I believe they will over take the Washington Wizards in the standings. It's all or nothing this year for the Nets and unfortunately for you Nets fans, it'll be nothing.

#7 New York Knicks

(36/46)

What a roller coaster year it has been for the Knicks. Coaching issues and player unrest. The Knicks have done well to stay in the playoff picture. Currently sitting well outside the eight at the moment, a relatively easy run home will see them sneak into 7th which is a win in my eyes. Being forced to play the Heat or Pacers in round one of the playoffs means they are just making up the numbers.

#6 Washington Wizards

(45/37)

They will drop a few more games in the home straight which will drop them to the sixth seed which is not entirely a bad thing for this franchise as I would much rather play the Raptors than the Bulls come playoff time. A lot of early draft picks have seen this team grow year after year and it looks like the faith in these picks are finally starting to pay off.

#8 Atlanta Hawks

(35/47)

Let's be honest, they are just wasting space in the grand scheme of things. They have done well with the loss of their All-Star centre, Al Horford to a pectoral injury for the season. I don't really want to waste your or my time with them. Sorry Hawks fans.
