Brazil 2014 Socceroos Squad

3 Players to watch

3 Players to not

The build-up to the FIFA World Cup this year has been hit with equal levels of optimism, excitement, apprehension, and downright negativity. I personally have experienced all 4, some of which was based on the possibility of a trip to the event, and some on the performances of the team and its players.

A recent run of poor results, highlighted by the not-so-friendly annihilations at the hands of France and Brazil (both supposedly struggling at the time), has left some fans wondering where the Socceroos are at, both the present incarnation and in its hopes for the future. Big Ange has a big, big task on his hands to take the combination of the gen Y’s and the geriatrics down a path of anything but total humiliation in 3 group games against Spain, The Netherlands and Chile.

The Socceroos need change. Ange has agreed with this. But is he willing to make the necessary changes?

Here I have highlighted 3 players who I feel good about, and 3 who I would (and will) be frustrated should they turn out for the Socceroos in Brazil.
