heffield Steeldogs first came into existence in the summer of 2010 to
become the tenants of the iceSheffield rink. They began competing in
the English Premier Ice Hockey League and have gone on to put together a
short history of which they have every right to be proud since then.
At present they play in Division 1
North of the NIHL Moralee Conference
and are owned by Ali Cree and Robin
Grayson. They are currently progressing
well under their guidance.
So far this season, they have been
in terrific form, having put together a
record of twelve wins and two defeats
from their fourteen matches. This has
left them sitting proudly atop the table
with twenty five points on the board.
This should provide them with the
perfect platform from which to go on
and put together a successful campaign.
As long as they are able to retain their
current group of players they should be
in with a good chance of challenging for
honours when the business end of the
season comes around.
They made an early statement of
intent at the start of November when
they took on then league leaders Telford
Tigers at home. There was little between
the sides during the first period and it
ended deadlocked at 0-0.
Sheffield took the lead in the second
period but Telford responded brilliantly
to take a 2-1 lead going into the third.
