Banstead ladies 1st teams performed well last season and we are looking forward to watching the squads develop further next season. We hosted a number of events this summer at the club, the highlight being the U16 and U18 6 Nations international tournament in July. The new season is about to start in September so all the hard work we have put in over the summer will hopefully pay off. “We are the heart of hockey in the Midlands and view youth development as critical to the club. It is great to see our young players develop over time and a number of them achieve international honours. We have the best hockey facility in Great Britain and we have plans to build two further pitches and extend the clubhouse soon. “The biggest challenge for us moving forward will be the effect of club hockey when the new FIH Hockey Pro League commences in 2019. Our ambitions are to grow our membership numbers across the junior and adult sides, to achieve national success with our men’s and ladies 1st teams and to take part in the European club competitions.” www.sportip.biz 47
