Golf Club
D
urham City Golf Club is based on Rosebay Road, Littleburn in
Langley Moor and is one of the oldest inland clubs in England.
The club was first inaugurated in the historic cathedral city in 1887 and
has gone on to put together a history to be proud of.
The club has retained its traditional
values whilst adapting to the times
in order to stay modern and takes
a welcoming stance towards both
members and visitors. A major part
of the warm welcome that they offer
people is the friendly clubhouse which
offers a bar, lounge and restaurant that
is open to the public.
As a club they offer social nights for all
ages and they are also able to cater for

a wide variety of events. Having such
fine facilities helps the club to play an
important role in their local community
and also has the potential to provide
them with a valuable source of additional
revenue which is particularly important
in the current financial climate.
The course itself is a challenge for golfers
of all abilities with subtly sloped greens
and gentle terrain making it a testing
but enjoyable challenge. As well as this
it is a picturesque parkland course with
trees lining the fairways and the river
Browney flanking it and is available to
play on all year round.
To further boost a visitors experience
they also have their Head Professional,
Tom Cranfield, who is always willing
to share his wealth of knowledge in
coaching.
The club is always keen to encourage
more people to become involved through
