Frocester CRICKET CLUB

It is an exciting time for Frocester CC following the opening of a new Pavilion and the club is now looking to progress on and off the field . Sport in Profile Magazine recently caught up with Chairman John Evans to find out more about the club .

Involvement
He told us , “ I joined in 1980 after moving to the area . I had played against Frocester for my previous club Dumbleton in the Village Knockout . I realised what a special club it was . Two years later I was 1st Team Captain for fourteen years and my proudest moment in sport was leading the team out at Lords in the Village Knockout Final . The most challenging role as Chairman is to keep all the various elements of the club working in the same direction and ensuring our new Pavilion is fully utilised .”
Atmosphere
“ The general mood at the club is buzzing as we have successfully undertaken the planning and building of our new
Pavilion which everyone agrees is a superb facility . We have just had our official opening and Simon Jones came to support the event . He was amazing and joined in with our young players and he tweeted that the Pavilion was probably the best he ’ d seen at club level . The new Pavilion is brilliant and the facilities at the main ground are excellent .”
2017
“ Socially , it ’ s been a brilliant year with many great events held already and our Voluntary Bar Manager Eric Bird ensuring that his new bar is well used ! Cricket wise it has been a bit of a struggle for the 1st and 3rd teams , whereas the 2nds , 4ths and 5ths are all doing well . The 1st team play in the Western Premier League where many of the clubs have
