Yamaha Motocross Team FOLLOW US ONLINE twitter.com/sportinprofile “2017 has been a good year; Jake Shipton joined the team in October 2016 and has shown a very determined attitude towards achieving success. The team is just the one rider this season to allow the focus to be concentrated in one area. “Jake has won the British Masters Series despite missing the final round with an injury. Jake also won the prestigious Patchquick Trophy event in June, beating one of the countries leading Grand Prix riders to secure the win. “We have only got a couple of events left for 2017 as the season is finished by the end of September. We will spend the autumn testing the 2018 Yamaha YZ450F due to many changes and upgrades from the 2017 model. “There are many challenges ahead for the team, ranging from securing sponsorship in these challenging times to getting to grips with the advent of evermore electronics involved in the modern motocross bike. “The last ten years has seen the move from conventional carburettors to electronic fuel injection. For 2018, Yamaha will introduce an electric start system to replace the old fashion kick starter. You will be able to fine tune the bike via an app on a smart phone. “Despite so many years in motocross I still have the drive and ambition for the team to win British championships and I remain confident that we can do it.” @rayarcherphoto @rayarcherphoto 20 Issue 15
