It reformed in 1962 and thirteen years later, in 1975, changed its name to West Wilts Hockey Club, to more accurately reflect the wide area from which its members were drawn. This is still the case, with players trvelling regularly from most parts of the triangle formed between Bath, Swindon and Salisbury. We maintain strong links with local schools which ensures our youth membership stays high. We are heading into the 2017/18 season with eight adult league sides spread across The GoCrea8, The Wessex Masters and The West Clubs Women’s Hockey Leagues. We would also hope to enter a mixed team again in the England Hockey Mixed Trophy Knockout competition. What’s the general mood at WWHC currently? We have prepared dates for our Back To Hockey Sessions and our HockeyFest Club Day to hopefully attract new players and reinvigorate current members ready for the new season’s start. We have put out a side in the Chippenham Ladies Summer League comprised of ladies from all three of our regular league teams. It’s a great bit of social hockey during the summer to keep our heads in the game whilst having fun at the same time. West Wilts have also sent touring squads to Chiltsfest 2017 in Surrey and to the Cannock Summer 7s in Staffordshire. These one or two day tournaments are again really sociable and great fun!
