We caught up with Club Secretary Bobby Geddes to find out more about the club. The Beginning Bob Geddes, Secretary of the club and has served on the committee since the club was reformed in 1976. “I’ve been involved and was one of the founder members when the club was reformed in 1976 after folding in the late 1940s after the war.A few of us including Jack McMinn who sadly died a number of years ago and Frankie Styles, who like me is still involved with the club and is Honorary Vice President, talked for a while before we managed to get enough support for a public meeting and the club was reformed with virtually no cash. But jumble sales and other fund raising enabled us to put a team into the Southern Counties FA and play in the South of Scotland League. It’s been a hard slog for the committee which is now led by Chairman Clark Lamont with Andy Davies, vice chairman and Kenny Murray treasurer.” The Role “I’m secretary and my main job is to keep the club in touch with the SFA and vice versa and to see that things run smoothly.
