rAge is held at the Northgate
Dome in Johannesburg, and many
gamers make the annual pilgrimage
to the City of Gold from all over
the country. While this might seem
odd to some, rAge is a three day
gaming, tech, cosplay and comic
extravaganza that is the highlight
of the South African geek calendar,
showcasing the latest games, the
latest consoles and technology
and combining it with a comic
book contingent that ranges from
retailers to graphic artists selling
their own work.
2013 has been a particularly big
year for us geeks. Not only is there
an amazing line up of Q4 games in
the months preceding Christmas,
but with the new PS4 and Xbox
One consoles on the cards, gamers
were out in record droves to get
some hands on time with Sony and
Microsoft’s latest offerings, both on
display at rAge 2013. Tech fundis
were also able to get their hands
on some cutting edge equipment
making its debut at the expo.
