SPLICED LIFE / exhibition / feral / An interview with Peachfish & Muzi ISSUE 01 MUZI To display your work in an exhibition for the first time must be nerve-wracking; do you feel it was a success? Fear is the biggest hindrance, and is the exact reason why I hadn’t done this before. It was a decision to ignore the multitude of reasons why not to, and the possible negative and to commit to the process and have some fun with it. To allow oneself the courage to be bold, even if it wasn’t perfect. It’s a finite reflection of an indefinite process. I was blown away by the feedback and people’s reactions to the work and to the collaboration itself. Even before the event, people were really excited by what we were doing. “I'm a silly guy with twisted sensibilities, I like to think the combination forms the basis of anything I do creatively.” Tell us a bit more about the experience? Lauren and I have similar fascinations with anthropomorphism and mythology that dictated the direction from the start. From that it just fell into place; our visions, our intentions, our natural predispositions to style and subject created the destination. It was seamless. Where do you want to go with your art? It’s more where it wants to go with itself. The drawings are finding their way to the most interesting places.? “I knew I wanted something intimate, made with love by some friends” - THEBRR 26
