ONCE YOU GO
MAC, NO WAIT…
Sadly this headset is
not natively Mac OSX
compatible. As a result, while
you’ll get great performance
when using it on your PC
or console, don’t expect
it to be the same if you’re
using these as multipurpose
headphones for work and
play. It doesn’t work via USB
on your Mac, meaning you’ll
need to plug the headphone
jack in separately, and the
sound is muted and weird
even at full volume.
it comes to claims such as these, this
is something I really didn’t expect
from a set of headphones. When
playing FPS games it gives a great
indication of where gunfire and blasts
were coming from which means you
can respond to a situation quickly
and easily and it ultimately enhances
performance quite nicely.
Because the headphones sit
so snugly, they cancel out a lot
of background noise, so you can
stop pretending to ignore people
when you’re playing and relax in the
knowledge that you actually won’t be
able to hear them whinging at you.
For those people who care about
the specs, the G430 comes with 40mm
drivers and has a frequency response
of 20Hz-20kHz, which means you
get a great sound experience in both
high and low ranges. With 32 Ohms of
impedance and 90dB SPL/mW expect
to experience crisp and clear audio
from this headset with a range of tones
and vibrant bass.
The microphone is more than
sufficient for a gaming headset,
delivering clear audio to gamers on the
other end. You won’t be using this to
record high quality audio but that’s not
a necessity in this case.
Much like other Logitech products,
the G430 also comes with its own
custom software, which I appreciate
but I can’t say I used it overly much.
Perhaps if you’re particularly finicky
you might opt to use this tool.
Overall the Logitech G430 is a
good buy! It’s not the cheapest on the
market, but it’s a good, quality headset
that will certainly enhance your gaming
experience, whether you’re on a single
player or multiplayer kick.?

Verdict
Good quality
headphones, ideal for
gaming, but not quite as awesome
for multipurpose use. Not
necessarily an issue though, it’s
unlikely you’ll need 7.1 surround
sound at work.
