(Argosy University) SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE (SM): Describe what makes you a successful leader in the category for which you were honored? Dr. Brenda Hester Green (BHG):As a teacher, particularly as an African American woman, I find there are certain aspects/standards you are expected to uphold. Being a good role model for all my students is important to me. As an educator I have learned the importance of differentiated my lesson to be an effective teacher to all students. My expectations are high for all of my students. It is my desire for each of my students to leave my class, and excel in all aspects of life. I am a well respected teacher in my community, who is deeply involved in leadership roles within my school. Currently, I serve on the Accreditation Committee, Interim Afterschool Director, member of C.W.S Crisis Team, Co-Advisor for C.W. Stanford’s Ladies of Excellence, and C.W. Stanford Counselor Advisory Board. SM: Can you name a person who has had a tremendous impact on you as a leader? Maybe someone who has been a mentor to you?
