DURHAM, NC - On Tuesday, August 5th,
over 16,000 communities from all 50
states, U.S. Territories, Canadian sites
and military bases worldwide observed
the 31st Annual National Night Out
(NNO) crime and drug prevention
event. Pictured are youth that took

Mobile Kitchen, one of the more than
100 Durham neighborhoods that held
events. DJ Fatz kept the party hyped
with the music and Ms. Tootie, along
with help from her family, provided all
the delicious food and school supplies.

most promising prospects converged on the Bull City for the 2014
Triple-A All-Star Game! The host team, Durham Bulls, invited 100
Men in Black to sing the national anthem to kick off the nationally

PEACE CELEBRATES 40TH
ANNIVERSARY WITH CONCERT
DURHAM, NC - Peace Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its 40th church anniversary
with a special concert on Sunday, July 27, 2014. The celebration in song featured all of
the church’s renowned choirs: The Voices of Peace, Spirit of Peace, Angels of Peace, Male
Chorus and Senior Choir. (PICTURED) The choirs sang selections from all four decades of the
church’s existence and ended the praise and worship celebration collectively singing the
gospel classic, We’ve Come This Far by Faith, in unison. Rev. William E. Daye is the Pastor
